I drink lots of water. I've been blessed to handle the heat very well. I believe it comes from my job, which requires me to be outside in a wide variety of temps.

An air conditioner!  And I have a huge generator that comes on when the power goes out!  (It is worth every penny of the $1500 it cost,)

I do okay if the A/C is working. Otherwise, I can’t breathe very well.

I was kind of wondering that myself this afternoon when I was cooking Chinese for supper and the power went out.  Everything we have and use is electric.  The temperature 99 degrees with heat index of 110 degrees.  Even our phone does not work if the computer is dead.

I sat in my recliner which still rocked pondering a dark, silent evening and long night and how I could make it more liveable with no lights, no cool air, no way to finish cooking the rice which was only half done, no entertainment, no way to contact anyone, and most of all Ribcage going bonkers.  One year after an ice storm his house was without power for eleven days and that was what he was worrying about.

I was thinking of packs of frozen peas and blackeyed peas for helping to cool ourselves, and wondering how long it would be before all of the ice cubes melted and the food in the fridge rotted.
