Sorry for replying so late. I just got busy with work after a 50 days' leave from the univ.
What is great about this man is that he could write a tragedy involving trivial issue like a handkerchief, and there are so many discussions and interpretations keeping the experts busy. Another version of Othello has recently captured the imagination of the readers. Thanks so much for your fine comment.

Oh, such an interesting post, Aba brother! Othello is certainly popular among many. But I agree with you and Ari, pity without awe is a little flat. As humans, we want more than pity in order to be entertained. Yet, the point was also ‘little,’ all based upon a little handkerchief. Makes me wonder if the whole play was meant to be on that scale... But, no. Many would argue that it‘s a great play.
