Death does seem to cause some of the surviving family members to distance themselves from the rest of the family.

It's mainly because everyone handles death in a different way...

I guess one always has to respond cautiously in the case of the death of a spouse or parent, or anyone for that matter. I'm sorry your cousin changed after the death of your mom. Maybe the cousin thought your mother would leave something to her.
