What a great idea! There are NEVER enough subs around here. I should think they'll welcome you at the D.O. with open arms. And you won't have to be there everyday. The best of both worlds.

I'm also saying go for it - but curious about what subject you want
to teach. If it's interesting and satisfying for you, no doubt students would like it too, whatever it is.
