I am inclined to think that the essence of dumpster might get in the way of a bear's thought processes. I am certain that bears would rather eat garbage than fight. I know for a fact that I will NOT try to drive a bear away from a dumpster. I bet it would make a great blooper video!!!

Bears are a rambling bunch, they don't have very much on their minds.Trash and berries, and the occasional odd bit of fetid carrion keep them satisfied. They and I found our set of satisfactory boundaries years ago, they grumble and thrash about and I watch with amusement. So far it has worked out to our mutual benifit.

We actually had one bear that was big enough to tip the dumpster over. We never met face to face - fortunately..

nights when good stuff is to be expected in ye olde dumpster. And he seemed to be a friendly neighbor. Had it been me being surprised like that, there'd have been some britches to launder. :)
