that was a good story, and to think you never knew it made the paper. i sent my grandmother a check back in the 60's , i worked for manufacturers hanover trust in nyc, and when my grandmother died i found a newspaper article about how that check had a picture on it, i guess they did not do that much back then and she notified the paper in town lol.

Oh, I'd never heard of this happening, and I've heard of a lot! The poor baby. One has to hide everything when children are small. Perhaps, even when they aren't so small...

In those days reporters checked arrest reports at the police station, and admissions / releases from the hospitals. Now there are privacy laws that prohibit health care pros from releasing that info.

In 1955 my older sister was trying her best to look like Marilyn Monroe and Kim Novak, and was doing a pretty good job of it. She told me I needed to start looking pretty and did a makeup job on me that got me hooked. At that time "Golden Girl" was the makeup to use.
