I so agree. Don't they teach script-writing for television anymore? Or for movies, for that matter? I know there are classes for it, but do they TEACH it? Seems like even the best potential writers wouldn't be hired due to reality and sports and news. Rrrhhh!

I utterly refuse to watch reality TV I am sick to death of news programmes, and soaps and cooking shows and and and ....so I don't watch TV. it is in the back ground for a bit of noise around but I prefer to be on FB and stir up soneone's day. I believe i have reached the naughty old lady age.

It is all supposed to be about saving costs but when one reads about directors bonuses and perks no one hears about, one wonders how much is really saved.

It's outrageous but a sign of the times, imho..
I know a writer (born and raised in my hometown and a friend of my family) who made a nice little fortune writing for 2 hit tv series, but that was 20 something years ago. He is appalled by the ignorant greed so rampant and blatant now in the industry. Coming soon (actually in place to a minor degree already) robots replacing all actors..
