Re: Kabu
Sadly Kabu folk who have been brought up as many were before the wars, in near poverty. The folk find it hard to accept that the time is different. The new generations do not have that problem and most will spend money freely.

Re: Re: Pat
wow that is a post in itself. She hoarded the jam. Well it is better than plastic bags that some people these days stash all over their house but what a shame she never got to enjoy her jam.

Re: Pat
Pat one of my Aunts we visited Mother always took her little things and always a pot of jam. Auntie always seemed extra pleased with the jam as it was during the war. This Aunt died years ago, her larder was still stocked with jars of Mum's jam untouched but goodness knows if it was still edible.

Re: over therainbow
It is strange ladies never like to disclose their age, well until they are over 70.
But men seem to revel in the fact , perhaps it is a show of masculinity.

It would be so boring to visit a crankie aunt as a child. Nothing to do or say. Poor kids. And your new character is, well, a character! Cute one.

With the proliferation of technology, camping becomes all the more difficult without our televisions and phones...Aggie is quite a character you have created.

I loved the visit to cranky auntie, reminds me of the "good ol' days"
when children were not spared lest they be spoiled. As for your 30-something busty Corncrake Annie, she sounds like someone I may have known back in the day. LOL
