Re: From Anib to GM

You say GM that I am trying to find an excuse and rationalise the blockage of our memories. Firstly, I concede that had the memory of our previous births not been wiped out, it would have been immensely beneficial for mankind from the point of view of your argument and understanding. You also ask that could there be any other reason that is not beneficial? In my opinion it would then create great many confusions that would be most irreconcilable. For example, he would totally deny that his present birth's parents are not his real parents, his brothers and sisters are not his siblings. A chaos would then reign, he will be in density-less, and that is not all; there are so many other issues with strings attached to them. Supposing he is not able to decide in which of his past lives, before he has exhausted the capacity to go further back in time, is real! but for his current life, or not real. Should he then accept or not accept, which one, or any one? So there are rungs, not to go up but to go down, of which we have had detailed discussions, only those that are necessary, e,g., relief from chronic pain, or other practical or personal problem/s. A man of perseverence can rise up to the Visshuda chakra from where it is impossible to forget. I don't know whether you will call by whatever name, the practice of graded sadhana is most necessary. Why do you think the nuclear button is kept a secret from the uninitiated ones? Any fool can press the button that can wipe out all humanity many times over. I think that should be the rationale.

Anib

I do agree about the negatives of ego, and the great harm it can do.  And I agree that we are all a Prince (or Princess) by birth, from our spiritual heritage.  That makes me even more upset that our memories of our spiritual heritage are blocked.  You are trying to excuse and rationalize the blockage of our memories.  I am trying to ask, could there be another reason, that is not so beneficial, but is actually oppressive?

Part of the 'ego' is self-esteem, self-respect.  Jesus told us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.  So in order to love others properly,  we must first learn to love OURSELF properly.  This is the good part of the ego, that should not be suppressed.

Re: Aba. Brother

It gives me happiness that I could do so to win your high praise. I must read Dr Wayne Dyer, whose books I have never come across. It does appear that we are programmed not to be free of our egos, but say for example, when we do anything for others' good we feel elated, we feel light, we feel joyous. This impels and gives us strength to progress further, until comes a time when we hardly realize that our ego has been totally destroyed. I doing good to others we do good to ourselves, that's the whole point. How do I thank you, my big sis?

Re: Kabu

Thanks for your words in encouragemnent. Do excuse me for writing long writes but when I am deep in thoughts they just keep coming in flow and I can't really help it.  Everyone of us in our own ways try to realize one's higher self and in the constant effort we do at least become better human beings. Then another incident, another opportunity, another wave comes to propel us to the higher rungs. I think that is all we can do. Thank you so much.

Aba. Brother

I am struck by your wonderful explanation and teaching in multiple ways. First, the parallels to traditional Christianity are great. And second, the similarity to the lectures  of Dr. Wayne Dyer in his later years is profound.. I have often wondered if we, as humans, are programmed, not to lose our egos, but rather to control them? To love in the highest state, seems so unattainable for most of us. But as Kabu said, as we evolve, our needs and wants change, even in one lifetime. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I think we all try, most anyway, to be or to become, the best version of ourselves possible. Well done!

you are incredibly wonderful...I know that is no help to your personal struggles with ego but I read then read again and re read this post. I just love it.

if I had no ego I would be sitting with Christ or Buddah, but I can never reach a place while I am part of theis life where I have no ego. I believe at some level I need my ego for my sanity.

I do find as I am now older that less matters more. Spending my days caring for Wiley as he does for me, is where I am most happiest and at peace. That and reading and writing.

I long for less and less from the material World, I shed tears for those who live for the material. and now I read back over what i have read and it is all about me and I. Sigh!
