I've never had the slightest problem with your 'numbering' your sons, LOL...But as a zealous ex-smoker, I would urge Son #1 (sorry, Ribcage!) to quit that nasty habit...

Well you are a bit non inventive on some of your loved ones. .I hope Preacher does not take umbrage .Kindly tell Ribcage i would have liked to be called that.  I suppose he wouldn't swop for Bone Cruncher?

I ascribe names to people as well in my entries. I remember JoeLove bringing up those who would call people by letters. His point was that we would run out of letters before names.

I like the name Ribcage a lot.

It is amazing all of the numbers that are around us.

I'm glad that Ribcage is okay.

When I read your title I thought "just a number" would introduce

a bit about age and the # of birthdays, etc... It's always good to be surprised when the story goes in a different direction. I like both the numbers and the names... You always brought out their personalities.

I can't say why but for me numbers(was bad at Mathematics) lack the human touch and feel...it's better to have names.

Of course, if you were a Chinese family, or perhaps an ancient Roman family, names would be numbers and numbers would be names.
