it would be reflexive for me as well...I am sure he wouldn't have extended his hand if he even thought it might be contagious

I wouldn't have wanted to shake hands either. :) I am sorry for him and wonder what the disease is.

A tough one FS. I think if I had been your old mate I would have worn some kind of glove or said I would love to shake hands Son, Dad, but better just to think we have.
