The only way I can see it causing a catastrophic threat would be if the technology makes a major error. It says that the asteroid is coming, and it does not. However, people are told, and chaos ensues.

More than likely, if an asteroid was to come, the powers that be would hide it from the masses.

I wouldn't think the tracking would be a cause of concern! I doubt we could stop one if it was intent on crashing into earth! sam

I think the asteroid is named Trump or Bannon..:)  It was close but missed us; hopefully our luck will hold.
