That looks delicious,

also way off my menu!

I love the fresh pears, sliced and kind of crisp to the bite. But the

idea of using a 100-year old recipe and eating such a lovely remembrance is about a million times more tempting. What a wonderful way to start the year.

Yes I had loads of pears but as you say they ripen too quickly, Sadly I have not your sis's skill so the birds pecked them away.

I agree with Kabu something that looks so good can do no harm :)

Re: Kabu and TAPS

I have been extra naughty with the sweets, but will reform - tomorrow, or maybe the next day! lol.

Re: RPresta

I would imagine so, but I don't use sugar/sweetening in anything....I do eat Sis's sweets about once a week because she won't take no for an answer.

personally i have been very naughty since Christmas and I don't care and the sugar well yes but one serving of something so good has to do more good than harm. Good for you and I am so glad you enjoyed your slice and the memories.

TAPS

OMG, that looks sooo good! Could you use Splenda or a Stevia sugar substitute in the baking? Yum.
