That was an engaging story! I am not sure on the broken heart but it does seem like it happens to people who are very close! My biological mother died 3 months after my sister died! It was the second daughter she buried and I think it took a toll but I am not sure it was a broken heart though! sam

Love that song, Somewhere My Love. I believe the shock to the body and the mental stress of losing a loved one can contribute to the cause of death; trigger it. Conversely, I believe one can live long past one's "expected" time, with a strong will to live. We simply don't know.

I believe that a broken heart can cause death, yes. I am guessing this question is referencing Debbie Reynolds over Carrie Fisher...I do feel that grief is at its worst during Christmas. Something about this time of the year.
