I looked but didn't find it, but I know you are correct. The only one that comes to mind is Jolene with Dolly Parton.

Re: BC-A: RPresta

So, that's the general (regular) love song.  Kenny Rogers recorded a song that became a hit from the feminine point of view. It'd have to be looked up to know the specific one.

I think if it is challenged then freedom or a right is questioned.

I think it's okay for anyone to do what they want as long as no one gets hurt. The lager in your story reminded me of the crazy lagers my sons drink! lol sam

Anyone might sing2 anyone.Yet MODESTY doubles the interest rate &

is wonderful for civilization (and religion/Faith). The privacy of the marriage bed throws every rule out, except respect & self-respect. Go on; sing country, Willie Nelson, or even with Terry Bradshaw ... but marry before you quarry! Shalom

I think, in the Arts, one must allow the freedom of thought for things to be politically incorrect at times. Having said that, for song lyrics, I personally prefer gender specific roles. In other words, male and female roles not to be exchanged.
