There is something haunting about those abandoned malls.

Re: Pat_B

Yes.  There must be some kind of issues, to let it go like that.

TAPS

Remember it in its days of happiness and bounty. It's only a shell, but the spirit of the good times remain with you!

One of the bigger more popular malls around St. Louis is in the same

state of abandonment. It's a shame we can't find a way to convert them into residential communities - seems like a covered mall with cafes and coffee shops would be an ideal neighborhood for seniors who could get out and walk no matter what the weather. And since the structures are already there, installing partitions, plumbing, etc. might be do-able to house homeless people. Maybe there are issues I have no clue about.

Re: Kabu

I probably wouldn't go there now even if it were open and busy.  Sis tried to get me to go with her to the City Market.  It is a wonderful place with so many stores, sidewalk vegetables, meat market, fish market, markets from so many ethnic places, eating places.  I have always loved that place, but I wouldn't go.  Don't ask me why.

A bit sad...I wonder if malls will become a thing of the past now that it is so easy to sit at home and shop. Our little tiny one level mall here in Town has trouble filling its shopping spaces. I can shop for Christmas for the family in Australia without leaving North Camelot. Sad isn't it that humans are really beginning to spend less and less time with other people in social settings.

Well I suppose it is only a building Taps ,but it makes one feel sad obviously thinking of the happy times that were spent there.
