When my mother was small. She told me that her father would often take her with him, I suppose she was a small dark nice looking child. Once one of her sisters followed behind, she was a plump child and wore a blacked off pair of glasses as one did in those days for a so called lazy eye. '' Go home her father told her,we don't want you. No wonder that rejected child did not as a mature person have much love to offer.

You have made me do a lot of thinking about my growing up years and how each sibling was so different from the others.  There were seven of us spread out over a twenty year period...each different in personality and feelings...each raised differently from the others...each feeling differently about how they were raised.  It's like each person in the family had a completely different family from each other and a completely different set of circumstances to deal with.

The first time I read Bryce Courtney's Book "Jessica" I felt that he had exaggerated a story that was part of Wagga Wagga folk lore. One daughter favored over the other being a large part of what the book is about. very exaggerated I suspected until a woman told me and big Sis that it happened to her. At Christmas time her sister used to get a big pillow case full of toys, books, candy and clothes. She also had a pillow case stuffed with...a toy and a book on the top and the rest filled up with newspaper. No life ain't fair and yes one has to get on with it like these two women did.
