Its a lovely scene indeed... to co-exist with nature.Reminds me of a pair of pigeons who came to drink water from a pot i keep on the terrace and gradually walked around so comfortably as if they owned the place :)

Well i suppose it would be logical to take the weakest chap out, I bet your Dad would have thought so. My forebears were into a bit of dear poaching, but in those days one could be sent to Kabu land. I know the story, but I should not think any of the relations know.

well a pickle is brewing. Who do the apples belong to. LOL and of course this man has not expressed any dominance over these boys so of course they have to try to show their bully side. It won't work of course. LOL But what a wonderful Summer it has been and those boys will eventually move away I am sure...when the apples are gone.

tame deer can be scary at times, especially this time of the year
when they begin dashing across crowded traffic lanes. I hope your possum has gone back to the woods for a good nap.

I love this post!
So quiet and serene... before those bucks start getting all feisty with each other!

Quite the interesting post. Hope the 'possum was just playin' 'possum.
And better fawns than mountain lions, like there are here! They had to screen off sections of a freeway to keep the mountain lion families from wandering onto it and getting hurt! But then they did a stupid thing. They left blank spots every so many feet. The thinking was that if a big cat accidentally got onto the freeway side of the screened fencing, it could wander back into the wild through the areas where there was no fencing. Hell-lo! Don't they realize a big cat could wander ONTO the freeway through the openings?
