Re:

Is your thumb popping in the joints when you bend it?

Ow! ow. Now my thumb has started to ache in sympathy, or was it like it before and I was ignoring it? Please to not explain any other symptoms unless they make one jump up and down in ecstasy.

Re: Pain

It doesn't hurt unless I move it.  LOL.  How does one not move their right thumb if they are right-handed.  I'm very slow now at blogging as I am trying to teach myself to use the computer mouse and the space bar with my left hand.  They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but I'm trying.

Pain

I'm very sorry about your pain; I too have Chronic Pain Syndromes and have look tirelessly for remedies; and finally, I came across a cream at a local festival. Its called Comefrey Salve an all natural products. Its made on a  BotanicalSpice Farm in North Carolina...336 419-0687; there's not an address on the bottle, but if you call, I'm sure they can answer any questions.

The pros...I 've been using about 2 weeks with successful results reducing pain and the cons...I must apply it continuous throughout the day, on the pain area, for it to be effective.

What a miserable affliction - making the one daily accomplishment

and mind venture a punishment... I can live with the slowed down-ness, the imbalance, even the occasional incontienence, but pain that prevents the typing is an insult beyond the pale...  I hope it improves immediately.

Oh dear, the signs leading to too much use of the mouse, etc and its repercussions to a frequent user is really serious. This is something everyone should be aware of. Take care TAPS and hope you feel better soon.

I am so sorry about this. I have no advice but I will offer prayers. I do hope you find relief and are able to use it again soon.

TAPS

So sorry to hear that! Alternating ice packs and heat might help, but you might also want to try ultrasound. I have one of those things and it has helped me with some injuries...

Re: TAPS

They say that ice packs alternated with heat packs are the best.

TAPS

That is terrible and will an ice pack do anything good for it love?

Dear Taps....

poor baby. It reads really painful and I agree each year something else wears out, begins to hurt. It would be OK if the second hurt replaced the first hurt but aging doesn't seem to work that way. Ill just send you hugs.

Sorry about the soup...

You could wrap it with some of that narrow-gauge stick-to-itself medical tape to give it some support, or cut the thumb out of one of those hand-hugging spandex gloves.

Nsaids are no-nos for me, too, but acetaminophen has been my friend these several years.
