I love it.  My sons and I used to sit on our big porch back in the good old days on the porch swing behind the trellis of pink roses and the large potted plants, and talk.  Now days we visit inside because it seems nicer to be without the fear of mosquitoes and other things.

I can almost see it! Time spent with the 'kids', chatting about what's wrong with things reminds one of what's pleasant and beautiful - precisely moments like that! And the appearance and work of the volunteers is a kind of exclamation mark!

I think the hate we see is a symptom of us seeing it all the time. Nowadays, people are inundated with bad news 24/7 from cable news networks running 24 hours a day to social media. Sadly, I do not see things changing any time soon, only getting worse.

Don't you just love that feeling? WHen all seems to be right in our little corner at least? I get that with my bunch too...wouldn't trade it for the world!

I am tuning in to the news less and less because the politics of America are mean, divisive and simply below the level of intelligence that America usually displays.Fact is I spend too much time tuning in to foreign news because our news is boring.
