Yup, I totally agree..........
........the time has come for public outcry...........and the cry should be for those who have been abused by our judical system........the innocent victims. And you are so right........nothing could be said or done to console that little girl's parents. The nightmare of their daughter's last moments will be seared in their minds for as long as they live. How's that for Hell on Earth? May this poor excuse for a human being rot in hell, forevermore.............

Gryphon...
sorta flew off the handle before I read the rest of your comment. I will delete the other one when I figure out how. We are in agreement.

Well, sure.
In a case like this where the guy is on tape, leading the victim away, and they have a witness to a confession. Cut and dried, as they say.

But what if the arrested person is not the real perpetrator? Or if the arrested person has a "rap" sheet long as your arm, but still didn't do the crime? Or if the arrested person, with the "rap" sheet, with motive and opportunity, STILL didn't do the crime? It does happen. Granted, not often, but I still think welding the door of the convict's cell shut is more of a deterrent than just putting him/her out of his/her misery. Plus you can always cut the door open again if new evidence shows the conviction was mistaken.
