Re: Re: Katray2
Thank you and you're most welcome. I understand those doubts, RPresta; have them myself too. All we can do is keep on writing, warts and all, so to speak, lol. You are a heartfelt and engaging poetess; keep on!

Re: Katray2

Thank you for reading and for the encouragement with your kind compliment. There are days I have very real doubts. Your poetry is always so very beautiful and artfully worded.

Re: Nautikos

I don't know how you missed it... This family, along with another who plays the accordian, are the first 'official' Roma musicians here, in my opinion. You probably haven't seen them there because they are way over here in this neck of the woods, but never fear, they are 'Travelers.' LOL! They come and go with the wind.

RP

How did I miss this? A great poem that brings back memories of travels in Europe - I don't recall ever seeing a Roma musician here...

Re: WileyJohn

Thank you, Wiley. Perhaps it was, if my Mom's lore was true...

Re: anibanerjee

Wow! Thank you for such a most generous compliment. I am speechless, and feel quite not deserving of that. It was a moment of beauty in a sea of tragedy, I felt.

Re: Kabu

Yes, the notes were so sweet to hear. And it does speak of all you mentioned. He was trying, I felt, in his own way.

Beautiful song to me sung by a gypsy perhaps.

I would rate this, Presta dear, as one of the best poems I have heard in a long time. Thre is longing, there is generosity, there is pride despite poverty, and, of course, the truth of it all, and the ending lines are simply fabulous. Kudos, Lady P!

It puts the whole thing in perspective. Once again, Excellent.

Toe tapping music and worth everyone's dollar or two. I love the Gypsy fiddle. it speaks to me of serets, romances, tragedies and yes the odd stolen item.

Re: TAPS

Wow! Wish it had been such a glamorous spot, but the music was beautiful, even in a Target parking lot. I videoed a portion of it to keep the sound. Strangley, one could still hear the music with the windows up and the A/C on several hundred feet out to the driveway exit. Thank you, glad you liked it.

Yes!  I cannot pass an open musical instrument case lying on the ground in front of one playing music whether on the Paris Pont Des Arts over the Seine, or in our own Country Club Plaza area.  Love the poem.
