Nice work, Kabu. Made me think of the first time I saw a deer swim,
which for some reason surprised the heck out of me. Don't know why it had never occurred to me they do so.

One of the things I truly miss about living at the lake is the sights and sounds of all the deer that roam my yard thoughout the day....and night. The jealous females sniping at one another, the aggressive males locking horns - clicking sounds in the moonlight, trampled grass the next day; and the babies, always the babies - twins, with little white spots....I loved your story.

She is beautiful, and I hope he did win...And I also hope in future he'll prepare himself a little better for long hikes in the woods...

I think he deserved to win, I would not have had the incentive to disturb the little beauty.
A lovely tale I want one of those.
