TAPS

We're having a beautiful day - not a cloud in the sky and little snow left on the ground! It's a bit chilly, though, and one has to look for patches of ice underfoot...Of course I too love Robbie Burns - who doesn't! And the mouse showed up just in time for his birthday on Monday, January 25...I would show it mercy in his honor...

Re: Pat_B

My mother also had the ability to quote long passages of poetry, from Poe to ... As mentioned, I do so love the work of "Robbie."

Oh dear, snow on the ground and a mouse in the house! 'Tis worse than rat(s) in the back, which I endure! And no, it's not a slum! I do so love "Ol' Robbie." Have a book of his poems, annotated by his brother, after Robbie left our earth. The publisher also "translated" the work into our English, and the combo allows me to read Robbie and fully understand his humor and meanings. Say good-bye to Mr./Ms. Mouse, I think.

Catch the wee mouse and put it on Son's pillow. Don't tell him, he look rather a tough guy. .

never mind the snow storm...You need Mr. Graysome in the building for a week.

Mice...

I delayed, thinking they are kinda cute, and there were only a couple--but a couple is all it takes.  About a month later, finally bought traps and ended up with a final body-count of 12 over a period of 2 weeks.

It is quite the snowstorm we are getting. Thankfully thus far, it is a light snow, so removal could be worse.

I love the work of Robert Burns, my mother used to quote him

from memory. They did a lot of memorizing in schools in her day. As for having a mouse in the house - they tend to try to get in when the weather turns cold and hostile to their food shopping. I bought a Tomcat trap at Lowe's when I thought I saw a swift shadow, and it works well - quick kill, no touching the critter.

My Dunany Demons are on the move again, this time south of our borders. I hope all is well with your sis, and I imagine if the weather is too bad, not going into work on Monday can be justified. Love the mouse story, love the poem your Son quoted! It gave me a giggle in the middle of this night!
