Some people never let go of judgment and control.  I've pretty much given up on that myself, though I find myself having a moment of it now and then and have to say to myself, "Now Betty!"

Quite impressive! Upon reflection, these words seem to boil down to one of my Mom's principles: 'Always be considerate of others!'  That would of course be easy in a 'Best of all Possible Worlds', and might not even be necessary there, LOL.  But Mom was smart enough to know that in the real world there are those only too willing to take advantage of kindness and understanding - she had read her Candide, as have I...

Well I could be mean Pat and say Unless they are walking over a cliff. However in my experience the more needy the quest the less response is offered. Folk just do not like to feel others pain, perhaps it is a self preservation instinct. Very often someone will cross the road to avoid speaking to the recently bereaved. Perhaps in your circle it is different, I hope so. Not counting loved ones of course.
