Poor Mum I can't help feeling sad for her. She however probably found joy in showing her skill in the kitchen. Sadly we cannot have or do everything we want, well we couldn't in your Mum's and my day.

I'm so glad she followed her dream, even if she didn't get that

certificate, she got the knowledge. And she defined herself, didn't take her daddy's definition of what a woman would/should be. Nothing to be embarrassed about: quite the contrary!

Ciel

I fully understand your Mom's passion for cooking - having a smidgen of it myself, LOL...I used to watch Julia Child, and have one of her books, plus several others, plus 'recipe collections ' of one sort or another, but tiny in comparison to your Mom's. However, I realized quite some time ago that even if I lived to be 200, I would never be able to try out even all the few things I have! What's more, I am really just an aspirational cook, not a skilled one at all, and terribly inefficient...But I still watch cooking shows, even the 'crazy' ones...
