Great post here. Others have made the following point about guns, but it is worth saying again. The liberal/progressive/radical pacifists in America want to outlaw guns any which way they can, trying to create 'gun-free zones'. But every gun-free zone they create is a preferred 'target-rich zone' for terrorists.
And as you said or implied, no matter what they do to ban guns now, they will not get many of the millions of guns already in circulation. They certainly won't get any guns from the bad guys. As the old bumper sticker says, IF GUNS ARE OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS..... but not completely true..... even more dangerous, the GOVERNMENT would still have plenty of guns.
Why don't the anti-gunners see that they are playing the same villianous role as the British troops trying to confiscate the colonists' muskets?

I think you are possibly right here K. It wasn't a big hit as awful as it was it could have gone much further. I am afraid this concerns many countries and there is no easy answer.

You have done a very good job on this; however, how will we avoid the President just taking it upon himself to make a law to take our guns? He should be impeached. He has already said if it came to war between us and Islam he will stand with Islam. Those who voted for him knew this going in.....Keep these good posts coming.
