Sounds like you need to bring in a therapist and I am sorry for your mom and the situation.

If you're not noticing any new symptoms of a physical nature, maybe it's depression. I fell into one big time over my health issues; not uncommon. And meds. do greatly help. Positive thoughts sent...

My heart goes out to you during this difficult time...I am not sure either how to handle a situation where someone has seemingly lost the will to live. Hopefully, there is something that will change how she feels.
