I have never, in my life done any kind of what you are talking about, but am smiling because I, on the other hand am constantly amazed at people who don't understand those folks who take seriously the call to 'witness' and try to 'save' their fellow man that is a very part of their faith.  But I shouldn't really be surprised in these times when the concept of integrity and actual total commitment are really quite 'fluid' like we are told gender can be. LOL!  I am not saying this is true of you, but odds are that some of the folks commenting in agreement with you...if the subject were about anything but religion.....would be extremely passionate in defense of their position if  discussing something with a friend or co-worker, arguing to the end to make their point, determined to convert the other to their side.  Yet when it comes to someone beleiving fervently in their heart that they need to apply that same concept to you with religion....well, that's why.  As long as they are sincere, I'll take someone trying to save my soul with love versus someone after my head out of hate any ol' day!

Please excuse me for this interruption. I shall not say another word about yours or my religion if you forgive me for this. What do you have to lose if I am right. So here is my case. 1) You have not been dead. 2) You nor I can be sure there is Heaven or Hell but I do have great reason to believe there is. 3) It is my belief that the spirit is complete with feeling and knowing after the bodily death. 4) It is also my belief that death is only a separation of the body from the spirit. 5) After death the spirit will live eternally. 6) If it has been changed by accepting salvation it will go to Heaven in total peace. 7) If it (the spirit) has not been changed it will go to Hell of constant burning eternally. 8) None of this can be changed after death. In time you will receive your new body but you will not change places there is no reprieve after death. NOW HERE IS MY QUESTION TO YOU? Why would you ever risk being wrong just for the sake of pride, not caring or any of that and find after you die you are condemned to burning hell eternally? I can't buy that with any sort of reasoning. You maybe can, but I just wanted you to know why I concern myself with your religion.

It seems that it has always been so.

I have had many do that as well including my own son. I refuse to argue with any of them. I am content in my beliefs even if they are not. I don't try to change them so I don't understand why they feel the necessity to change mine. So many different religions all profess that theirs is the only religion and all others will go to hell.  ha!

Hi Blue feathers,

I believe in God, but I utterly refuse to force my faith on other people.  The world would be a much better place if people would just learn to accept each other's differences.

if you feel comfortable and at peace with your spiritual side, then it really is your business. That's what the Gnomes say too.

I can relate!

Why can't hyper religious folks live and let live?"Spreading the gospel" is a term I've heard, along with "sharing The Word with nonbelievers"...non-confrontational methods but still iintrusive and rude, imo...
