It is a great plan all of it and with you taking a break in your own space you can pray and listen to what God speaks to your heart. Make sure that you take special things with you that mean much to you. And plenty of things to do. even if it is just lying propped up with pillows and reading a favorite book.
The 12 steps sounds an excellent idea and if he refuses, you cannot make him go BUY you have tried and that is all any of us can do.
