I really like that "sketches" ideas.  I'd like to get some graph paper and see what I can do with both of my grandmas' houses, my childhood home, and the home where my boys grew up.  That sounds like so much fun.

You (and they) are absolutely right - sometimes it's the small, seemingly insignificant thing or event that can trigger memories. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned, but that does it for me at least, and is somehow connected with my 'reptilian brain', LOL, is smell...

Well, I see you as a professional so am not surprised.

I used to undertake reminiscent therapy when I was working with the elderly in my nursing.

i had a big book with pictures...the 20th Century...and we would take a year and and it would brig back all sorts of memories. What amazed me with these folks was they would talk of the war years, and any other time  except the Depression Years. They really didn't want to relive them.
