Re: Justi - and southern gentlemen

You are absolutely right - many men have had a good upbringing and treat others - including women - with respect. But women should not have to become "non-gender ladies" in order to make it through a work day without some sort of affront to their dignity.

I appreciate Naut's response to this post. I was born a Southerner and went to college in the Mid West spent 40 years in both the work force of man's world and in my own business I do have experience of what I speak. I was divorced for 12 years and traveled a lot with my business endeavors. I found Southern men like men from anywhere to be a product of their social level. A Gentleman can come from anywhere, but red-necks come from every state and all countries. I have gone through all the job problems of the male dominated world that exists and I also know a lot of the treatment women get is their not knowing how to be a non-gender lady in the workforce and expect to be treated like one, rarely will she be in the company of a red neck. Maybe none of you know any Southern Gentlemen I am the daughter of one and proud to be.

Well I hope Dicky hadn't been handling the rats before he made his romantic proposal. I wonder if true love would be loving a woman for her mind and not her body. Or do you think anyone would believe such a theory?  Although it must happen eventually in many cases.

Re: Pat

but then dear Naut...you weren't a woman in the workforce, or on the street or travelling alone. I have been harrassed from one end of the World to the other, and if those Good'Ol Southern men aren't careful, they will lose the women's vote, the black vote, the Latino vote...and the election.  Oh and I never doubted for a moment that you treat women as equals...

It Trumps all other story ideas. Go for it woman...We are awoman hear my song....

Will we ever have ...freedom of choice equal pay for equal work, freedom to work in the workforce or from home, to have real freedom of child care placement. There are pockets, there is always the one woman here and there, but we don't progress. I'm just tired hot and yes that would be a great storyline...and needs to be written by a woman.

Re: Naut - running in the wrong circles...

The diff. between real men like yourself and those political clowns is greater than the diff. between night and day. I don't usually say this online, but I think most of these southern, boys went to religious schools where the science of biology was not taught and they picked up fundamentalist attitudes instead.

Well, dunno...Of course I haven’t watched the 'debates' that really aren't, LOL, so I don't know how much talk there’s been about female problems, women's fertility/health care, legal abortions, birth control, etc., but I suspect in that venue people’s true understanding of anything is hard to gauge – which is one reason I don’t bother watching these circuses…

Also, I know many men, including myself, who wouldn’t dream of pawing women, asking them to flash their breasts or tell them not to worry their pretty little heads – as a matter of fact, I don’t know any I can think of who would, though in the course of my life I have met a few who might have; but then I have also met some very strange women…

But maybe I’m moving in the wrong circles, LOL…
