Re:Naut
Yes I suppose they have raised productivity in countries that rely basically on crops.
There always seems to be a bad side to most things, but it is not revealed for quite a while. I am glad that you like the poem, I kind of monitor reaction, and do prefer thumbs down if it does not come up to scratch.

Re: Kabu
On your advice I sprayed black fly which were quite a menace. I don't honestly know it killed them as I kept squirting water to knock them off. How miz summer is so short for you guys. I hope we get three months before we think of autumn. In fact I am going to try a late crop of marigolds in the border of the green house, seeds should arrive tomorrow.

I don't use chemicals. I spray Coca Cola and that keeps the bugs down. Also my garden is full of hardy stuff that comes back each year now. if it is fragile I plant in a pot up off the ground.
Our summer is coming to an end. The nights are quite cold.

I have come to see weed killers as an unnecessary curse...And I like you poem - a nice attempt at explaining the inexplicable by describing it...

The placebo effect is very strong - think about yawning and then try
not to. If a sugar pill is thought to be a curative, then the mind will see to it that a cure arrives. So, probably, is facing malaise after handling weed killer. Remember, dear sir, you are not a weed. Love your wistful, imaginative poetry...

I know of a few who use as little chemical as possible with their garden.
So wonderful it is to see creation in action.

What beautiful snapdragons. I hope you did not get any poison on them, nor any on you. Terrible stuff they spray on growing things these days. It is sad that one has to be concerned about even eating an apple without peeling it.
