Yes we all look back and wonder if we could have been more saintly. The thing is Bro this is now, when these things happen it is a different environment and one deals in the circle of time. If we torment ourselves it would only have made the lost ones feel sadder to know such a thing would happen.

I agree completely with you that we do have our heart aches as medical folk...if we are really honest and not cold hard witches. Every now and again for no real reason that was different to other situations, someone would reach right into my heart and my heart would tear apart for them. And mistakes or taking a wrong turn, well that is the hard part of the profession that we love. We are human and as humans we take our knowledge and gut instincts and do the best we can. Sometimes whatever we do won't work and sometimes we just have to let go.
