I'm surprised you had the energy left to write all of this down. Sounds like you didn't even have any time to recuperate from your surgery. Are you okay. Are you going to be okay. A person can only do so much. I am concerned about you.

You poor thing K. You are really like that Queen who said 'Although I only have the body of a woman, I have the heart of a Lion.' I think she went on to win a battle, but I can' t remember. If you do feel slightly guilty about not attending the reunion, you can siphon the guilt into my well of sympathy. I am afraid I would hate going., it will probably be rather depressing and if I went 500 miles I would drown in the sea. I hope you Mum will be well again, it seems older folk often have such falls. Perhaps they should wear some kind of protective wrapping, if they could be persuaded to do so.

I would take a flight to that reunion or not try to go. Mom is in a pretty risky place health wise just now. She's probably going to do much better with you not far away. Sending you a hug. It's not much fun everything that has been going on for you.
