I agree you are right, I will not argue. Everything you say is true. Lots of things came in boxes soap hearthstones oranges etc. but soap boxes were sturdy. I wouldn't stand on one now though probably cardboard.

Not into facebook. And those speakers that you mentioned can still be seen in cities
like, N.Y.C.--no surprise. But it makes for a more interesting visit.

Blogit is my main medium for online communication as well. When Facebook used to have blogging, they did not get much of a reaction other than a comment here or there and a bunch of token likes.

Very good post dear lady. My dear husband reads all the world's newspapers (well lots of them) off the webb. Me I just read Blogit and post one spot a week on fb.

Well, as everyone knows, I am neither on FB nor do I tweet - Blogit is really my only indulgence, LOL...But this reminds me that many years ago some friends and I thought we might get some local pols interested in creating a Toronto 'Speakers' Corner' in our fair city. One of our number had a pretty solid contact to the then-mayor of Toronto, but the idea never took off...

Good one! Opinions are like a##holes, everyone has one and social media has certainly given free rein to any and every little and big voice out there to express whatever floats into their mind. I love a well crafted and impassioned speech....and enjoy a respectful debate....but the name-calling, yelling, infantile chatter that seems to pass for opinion sharing too often in the ether has given me burnout - I have no interest in any of it anymore....just so much clutter in an already littered world.
