I agree with you on this one. Call the cops or let it go but I think Dad's head was in a bad space back then.

Perhaps subconsciously your Dad was trying to portray his strength of character.
Fathers sometimes think they have to show a son that they are tougher than a son suspects

Yes, that could have been a very dangerous situation. Although I can't blame your
father for not wanting them to deal dope around his business. When I do work with the
State Police and Town Cops, I stop short of the actual bust itself. I was offered a more
lucrative opportunity where I would actually participate in the drug deals. I turned it
down. I like working on a lower key level. I actually sat here thinking for a while whether
I should post this or not. It's all about making your community a better and safer place.
