I suppose humans by necessity live for tomorrow rather than the far off future.
It just comforting to speculate that there may be life similiar to our own somewhere in there. Just lets hope our little earth can dodge the black hole before the sun goes crazy.

I, too, feel that we need to have more of a scientific focus on earth. There is so much we do not know here. I recall reading that we know more about outer space than what we do about our own oceans.
