It's always something, isn't it? And if you recall, I believe last winter was much worse, at least as far as the number of snow storms! Although the daytime temperatures have reached at least 50°+ around here, we still have small piles of snow that simply refuse to go away! Maybe in another week or so . . .

i worked part time for the last 5 years of my nursing life. It was a nice way to ease out from a career that I had really loved.

Sorry you're getting so much of the cold we've stored up here - it's just simply overflowing...

Never a dull moment in there and nice how you handled the 'seething' customer my friend.

So I imagine the shorts and T-shirt are put aside for the moment? Your reaction with the customer is right - it pays to be patient.

Yes it is hard working 7 days a week.  Everyone needs down time to refresh and function properly.

Nice if one can retire that early these days FS. Sadly it is not going to build up much of a pension fund. Swings and roundabouts I suppose. Once men mostly died three or four years after retiring at 65. Now there is a possible thirty years to consider. A nurse told me a few years ago now that a newly retired lady had saved 5K and thought that the interest would last for her lifetime. Glad that you sorted the grumpy customer out.

Well, it was over 80 here yesterday and I keep hoping the weather variances around the country will kick up some hail so I will get called to work! VT01's comment had me chuckling as when I work it is 7 day wks for 30 days solid, 12 hr days....and often for months at a time...in fact, I once did 4 yrs at that pace. My whole unit is comprised of retirees ranging from 55-75....he must know terribly fragile seniors!  Of course, we're all greedy, working for big bucks to help our kids support our grandkids

I hate the word ain't. I did that seven day work week for a while. At 23 I went back to

school again and worked at the same time. There was very little time for enjoyment.

I could just imagine how difficult that would be for a 62 year old.
