what a wonderful age 100...if Ireach that age being part of the Commonwealth we let the Gov. know and they get us a letter from the Queen. I remember when the Queen Mother was in her 90's she told reporters that she was looking forward to her letter from the Queen. LOL

I have never made multiple bean soup.  I've only cooked one bean at a time.  As of now the going beans are pinto.  I also do lentils, black-eyed peas and porken.  Winking smile   Hmmmm you make me want to try the MBS.

Yeah, it's unbelievably cold over here as well. It's been in the single digits every night, with a wind chill going below zero! And fifteen bean soup? What, one or two beans isn't good enough? God Bless Mabel! Find out what her secret is ( if you can ) and pass it along to the rest of us . . .

Pat

My heartiest congratulations to the lady Mabel Farrington! May she enjoy many more years in good health!

And I too love a hearty bean soup, especially at this cold time of year! The other day I made a Mexican black bean soup - it was delish! I'm not gonna bother giving the recpe here - you can find it on the Food Network! (I modified the recipe, as I usually do...)
