Great post.  It made me start thinking about myself and the fact that I say "What?" quite often.  I hadn't really thought about it, but it makes me remember that my mom was hard of hearing.  Perhaps it's genetic.  I'm so like her in many other ways.

I like the idea of keeping notes and instruction for a child or children so the know what you want and it is so much simler. Good post...I have good hearing and vision Thank God!

I guess I'm fortunate in that, not only is my hearing fine, but hearing problems in general don't run in my family. And keeping notes for yourself, in any form, for future reference is not a bad idea at all, regardless of one's age. Personally I keep the Post-It manufacturers in business . . .

I have a family members who really need a hearing aid. At times, it does irritate me when I have to repeat myself a lot. If I ever need one, I will be sure to get one.

I often wonder folk once came a different county to work in factories here. The noise was so intense thumping and banging as massive looms crashed up and down Apparently they could talk to each other through the noise if they were old stagers. I don't know what it did to their ear-drums I must put a blog on the local site and see if anyone remembers/ I honestly believe that mine was caused by a pressure pump that we used  in poultry houses to clean them.  It was funny even the chap who was qualified to test me for hearing loss admitted that he had tinnitus caused by playing high volumes of noise from Pop songs etc.,whilst he traveled in his car. I hope you can keep up the good intentions.
