You went when you were ready to go, and that is important.

Yes, it is difficult sometimes to know what to say to certain people at certain times. But your presence probably speaks volumes. As I've said before, I know from first-hand experience what this all feels like . . .

It is a very difficult situation.

That was a very hard decision.  But who are we to judge until we walk a mile in that person's shoes.

I've never visited anyone in prison.  I'm probably not doing my Christian duty, but I haven't.

You answered your question with your last words.....you are there for him.  Why do you need to say anything more?  He knows all those other things, doesn't he?  When it comes down to it....in times of stress, sadness, grief , whatever....all any of us wants or really needs besides food and shelter is to know that we are not alone....that is what you are saying to him by going to visit and that is enough, isn't it?

That's a tough one, I'm neutral on this.

i can understand why you were hesitant and how going with your father helped.  and it was brave and good of you to go.

It was a wise choice, if you were going to go to the prison, to go with others, especially Dad. Braver than me...I don't think that I could go at all.
