Yeah, I know what that's like! Sometimes it's the weather, and other times, you just have so much on your mind that your brain kinda shuts down, and makes it difficult to concentrate on anything. Give it a day; you'll return to 'normal' . . .

How delightful. I can just smell that. I am like you. I have the best of intentions but a lot of my get-up-and-go went somewhere else. You will be giving jars of love.

Anything home baked is always good, and it makes the house smell wonderful! My wife and I like oatmeal cookies too. And I used to do a lot of paintings for people as gifts . . . before I lost my hand ( figure of speech . . . I still have my hand of course; I just can't hold a brush in it for any length of time anymore ). People loved and appreciated them . . .

Bobs Red Mill makes a gluten-free oat product, old fashioned or quick

cooking, and there's a recipe for cookies. I'm thinking I'll head back to the store for a package of the flour and make a batch with red & green M&M's for Christmas color, and
take it to The Center. Or maybe a couple cookies & a packet of hot chocolate in a mug with a candy cane to stir as a Bingo prize...

Well it might be easy for you Taps but the thought of all the washing up afterwards is a real deterrent. I have some little bags of oats that cook in two minutes. I had forgotten about them until you mentioned this, I will see if they are still edible or if out of date give them to the birds, but they are quite fussy and only seem to want to eat cat pellets or hulled sunflower hearts.

Sounds like a great idea! And in this house we're never out of rolled oats - I have them for breakfast, raw, with flax seed and blueberries added, and moistened with a bit of cold water - that's it!
