Mihail_Lari, can I go to Mars with you? You can leave me there too...
at least until things get straightened out in this world...

" The structure of the US economy is remarkably different from what everybody thinks. Nobody seems to realize that we import twice or three times as many jobs as we export. I'm talking about jobs created by foriegn companies ci\oming into the U.S.. The most obvious are the foriegn automobile companies. Siemens alone has 60,000 employees in the U.S. We are exporting low skill, low -paying jobs but are importing high -skill , high pating jobs"-- Peter Drucker

Our bureaucrats have got it wrong. America is no longer the dominant economic power. The sooner Americans realise that the better they will manage their economy.

New New Deal
So it seems the Mars program is really a New New Deal in disguise?! :)

Nothing like being there . . . .

Exploring Mars and expanding the space program would help the economy.  Exploration of space requires new technology, more scientists, more technicians, more of virtually any profession or career path one could imagine.  We would also need to produce things for the space program, vehicles, engines, processed fuels, electronic instruments, enhanced computers, everday needs of space explorers, and so on.  All those would require factories and companies to produce and distribute the items mentioned.  And we'd need accountants to keep track of it, and the list goes on . . . .

Space exploration is a peaceful and productive way to give our economy a shot in the arm, as it needs.

And also Someone ought to tell George Bush " It's the Economy, Stupid!"

Why I would recommend Mihail_Lari of course; he would be the one who can see the broad issues...and perhaps the only one who can afford the bus fare...

Mars or the moon?
What's more exciting in an election year? Unfortunately for the Bush White House the idea backfired even among their own supporters who're (rightfully) already concerned about the growing defecit. A Mars program should set us back many more billions we don't have. Maybe George W. should be focusing right now on a Jobs program on earth instead.

Who'd you recommend?
Which blogger on BN would you send?!

What about the moon?
I've been wondering why we don't put more focus on moon projects - we know we can get there, so let's get that place sorted out first before we start trying to put people on Mars.
