That's probably the best attitude. Do those things that make you ( and yours ) happy, and don't let anything else ruin the occasion for you. My wife and I keep it simple as well, and take things 'as they come' too . . .

Taking it as it comes, when it's impossible to ignore it, is my strategy.
It grinds me down - so much fluff and fakery verges on preferrable to the happy brightness of those who actually love this stuff.

Yes I am glad you feel in the Christmas spirit Ciel. What I hate is when suddenly everyone starts smiling .I think the reason we hack it here is probably because we become used to each others little foibles. Well except mine and thine, we haven't got any.
