Sorry to hear the writing group isn't panning out quite like you'd planned. I don't think you're "missing" anything - socializing is all well and fine, but perhaps not in a group that's supposed to have some purpose...I like Naut's suggestion of giving everyone a set topic or a more structured plan to help bring the focus away from cheese and back to writing.

Love the picture of Prof Wolf lecturing! And we certainly have the same taste in cheeses if not in potables - sharp white cheddar being one of my favourites! But nothing is better than a glass of one of our many fabulous Ontario reds to sip along with it, LOL...

Pity the WWBBBC group ain't working out. It occurs to me that instead of letting everyone do her own thing, giving them one well-defined issue/theme to work on might focus their attention and might also get their competitive juices flowing...
