I love rain so much, but unfortunately in Southern California we hardly have any during the year. I love the four seasons.

Those rainy days are a good time to stay inside...We have yet to see our first frost. I hope that it holds off for a bit.

Yeah, sometimes 'wet' days can be somewhat depressing, especially when you have some overdue yard work to do ( like me ). And the Farmer's Almanac really said that? Good, because they're usually wrong . . .

Oh I hate to see all the beautiful flowers go away. That is the nature of them. You will work your little hinny off again next year for more beautiful gardens. I am sorry about the rain, just sleep in good weather for it.

A Winter's Tale coming up

That's the sad ending of the summer; Flowers are about to die, and soon the snow wil cover the entire garden. But Dear Kabu, to see the positive thing about this sad ending:

"When winter ends, spring will be back again."

Dear Kabu,

The rains have gone away from us, and I hope I have come back to keep writing, reading, commenting. Good to see you all here.

It's gotten down into the 40s here, but our weekend weather was perfect

for the women's retreat - esp. Sunday with high in the low 70s and a pleasant breese. Couldn't ask for a nicer weekend for the first day of Fall.

Well Kabu I don't know about Canada but it would be a bad sign here if it started to get cold early.  I have noticed that bad winters start early and remain bad. Mild winters hang about and we don't get too much frost and snow. I think you are a month earlier than we are weather wise. It went down to 7c here last night so not too bad. I suppose you will dig your Dahlia corms up once they have died down. I am going to leave some of mine in and cover with straw and something to keep them dryish. The are too big to lift and I have not got the Ju ju to lift them.

Kabu

A sorry sight that! I hope it doesn't make you feel too bad when I tell you we had a very warm and sunny day, and I was wearing my shorts when I took Bennie for a long walk in the woods...And that farmer doesn't know what he's talking about - he's senile by now, I'm sure. We're going to have a week of snow over Christmas just for decoration, and then it'll get warm again...
