I am amazed at the vehicles that are driven around here with so much rust, it is the only thing holding it all together.
Australia is so strict. Once a brand new from rh show room vehicle is 3 years old it is inspected every year and one takes a pink slip into get it registered. No pink slip...no registration for the next year...and definitely no noisy mufler or speck of rust.

You guys seem to get away with things don't you have a compulsory yearly test?
Once years ago I had an old car and the exhaust fumes came up through the floor much to the chagrin of passengers, but one did not care at the age.

I've just been noticing that my old Subaru sounds like it definitely has a hole in the muffler--it is not muffling at all and getting louder all the time. I must deal with that I guess.
