Re: Re: Kabu

actually it breaks my heart but I cannot afford to go to the old country now. Way too expensive for the likes of me.

Re: Pat

Well Pat as I told F.S, they are sold in the supermarkets but a very weak tasting straw indeed . I suppose cheese sticks would be more accurate, as I told Arthur, Archie is always rubbing chemicals over everything when he does the cleaning. I am wary of them and that is why I did not want to eat things straight from the oven rack.

Re: ChiffChiff

We don't like eating out Bro, we like the challenge of the daily problem of what to cook.

Re: Justi

I know this dictionary on here spells differently to our usual method I sometimes use either. Perhaps we are less generous with cheese remembering our tiny nibble when rationed,

Re: Kabu

Well that is just for accommodation Kabu I suppose it is still the holiday season. Things are a bit different since you put a footprint on the old island. Believe me this won't be the happiest of times

Re: Justi

Well Justi I don't want to make wine, I used to, but one becomes tired of doing the same thing. Funny the birds have not taken them this year. I think there are so many shrubs with berries in gardens or not so many birds.

Re: Naut

Yes not so dusty Naut, I used to like doing a bit of cake making, I might try and make a light sponge one day. I know a simple recipe..

Re: Jeansaw

Yes wait and see what happens Friday. Sadly nothing is like one thinks it will be, sometimes a dream is sweeter than reality. I don't mind a bit of burnt cheese or odd things, no good being too fussy.

Re: adnohr

Yes but I don't like the alarms going off either Adnohr. Also cleaning the baking tins is a chore. I have decided the raisin puffs are about the best I can do. Well as good as most shop cakes which seem pretty grim somehow,

Re: Jimmy

I suppose it is worth a bit of aggro not to have the worry of cooking lunch. yes you are one lucky guy/

Sounds like you and Archie had better get on the 'same page' when it comes to cooking! Or at least, the same pan! I'm so glad that, whenever my wife cooks anything, I have a pretty good idea exactly what's in it before any consumption takes place! She knows what I like and what I don't like, and when it comes to food, I certainly don't like surprises! It all sounded good anyway . . .

Well, now you know what to do if you want to get rid of Arthur for a bit - just bang something in the oven and let it burn away! I've had cheese straws and enjoyed them. I also enjoy currant buns.

CCT

Your cheese straw adventure reminds me again why I never bake anything, LOL...But I do hope you have recovered and are feeling better...

I hope that you are feeling better...Because of your poem, I looked up what a cheese straw is. I have never had one.

I got so caught up in the cheese straws until I passed this. I though it was so kind and generous of you to give away those grapes. You are always giving to others. You be blessed.

Branbary tarts havn't had one of those for years, ..

Archie must have made a fortune if he can afford a holiday costing that much, even if the old geezer pays some of it.

Lawdy lawdy Down South you can't have any sort of get to gather without a lot of cheese straws. Ours are made with the cheese grated into the batter and they are cheesy and crisp but tender and tasty as all git out. If you'll can't read this pick up a Chars'ton Dictionary. It is soft and easy language like talking with the Brits.

ChiffChiff

So Bro. almost committed unassisted suicide with your baking what? I say eat out more especially as Kabu has explained what 'cheese straws' are. LOL

I apoogize for my insufficient education, but I do not know what

a cheese straw is. I can visualize a drinking straw made of cheese, but am fairly sure that is inaccurate. Maybe I'll Google... I hope you do not poison yourself by baking directly on the rack cleaned with dangerous chemicals.
