Give 'n' take

Yeah, I think you're right. We should all give and take. But to take, I think we should be given something too.

yes so true....i don't remember where i read this but something along the lines of givers must set limits because takers never do

I would rather be a giver than a taker. If we look for a balance between the two, life would be boring. There is always much joy in giving than taking. Of course without asking anything in return

That is the trick, indeed.

I am like Taps I hate to be in debt to a giver. I know it is silly, but there it is.

RE: JimmyA and Kabu

I see that, too, Jimmy A. However, I think that the real problem is not the taking itself but the lack of appreciation. In most cases, those that take do it with a bitterness, as thought they are being forced to take or are entitled to it. "I have to take because I was screwed" instead of "I am blessed that you would share with me when I am in need." Those that give are often no more virtuous in their lack of appreciation. Again, it's an attitude of "I am good enough to give" rather than "I'm blessed enough to share those blessing with others."

Yes, a balance between the two would be nice! Unfortunately today, there are more takers than givers . . .

The taking is the hardest for me.
